Ron McKnight is a nationally recognized and accomplished massage and injury prevention therapist and founder of the Center for Therapeutic Massage and Athletics, Inc. (CTMA) located in Bethel, CT. He is an internationally renowned licensed sports massage therapist who has worked with athletes from all over the world and participated as an American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) medical staff therapist in three Olympics (Barcelona, Atlanta, and Athens), as well as the Goodwill Games in Seattle.
A teacher, author, and leading expert on prevention and palpation, Ron is also a long-time member of the national board of directors for the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), as well as a member of the Safe States Alliance organization.
His combined experiences have molded his mission of the development of injury prevention and health programs geared toward athletes and pediatric athletes. Ron’s therapy sets him apart from others, as he is highly regarded as one of the top experts in the field of assessing and treating trigger points as potential repetitive stress injuries.
Physical stress relief is one of the effects of massage as witnessed by my 30 years as a massage therapist and graduate acupuncturist. My experience as a therapist at several Olympic venues has taught me some of the techniques used by elite athletes who were not injured while preparing for the height of competition.
I have learned that a well-trained bodyworker is trained in palpation as a way of assessing injury and injury potential. As an educator, it is one of my goals to help develop and advance the natural healing art of touch to serve the public and our profession.
There are only two types of injury: Traumatic and Repetitive Stress. The entire population requires prevention from repetitive stress injury yet there is no current research. Current prevention research includes:

He saved my career a few times. As a former semi-pro cyclist, I had tendinitis and other overuse injuries. Ron McKnight helped me heal and prevent future injuries.
